Apple Powerbook G4 laptop Review
The Apple PowerBook G4 is a series of notebook computers, manufactured, marketed and sold by Apple Computer, Inc. from 2001 to 2006 as part of the PowerBook line. It uses the PowerPC G4 processor, initially by Motorola and later by Free Calendar, Motorola, after the semiconductor spin-off company under this name in 2004. The PowerBook G4 had two different models: one in a titanium body with a translucent black keyboard and a 15 "screen, Hi-Capacity PowerBook G4 battery, and another in an aluminum housing with an aluminum-colored keyboard, in 12", 15 "and 17" sizes.
Below is an introduction to the 15-inch PowerBook G4:
- 1.67 GHz PowerPC G4 processor with 167 MHz system bus
- 512 MB DDR SDRAM (two SO-DIMM slots support up to 2 GB), 80-GB hard drive, slot-loading 8x SuperDrive (DVD ± RW / CD-RW)
- One FireWire 400 port, one FireWire 800 port, two USB 2.0 ports and one PC Card / CardBus slot supporting one Type I or Type II card
- High-quality lithium-ion battery (Apple PowerBook G4 battery)
- Built-in 10/100/1000BASE-T (Gigabit) Ethernet, 54-Mbps AirPort Extreme wireless Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, and 56K V.92 modem
- 15.2-inch (diagonal), 1280 x 854 resolution, TFT widescreen
PowerBook G4 (15-Zoll-1.65/1.5GHz) looks almost like the PowerBook G4 (15-inch FW 800) and PowerBook G4 (15-Zoll-1.5/1.33GHz). The only visible feature is that the AirPort Extreme-door in Apple Lithium-Ion battery bay in previous models, it is no longer in the PowerBook G4 (15-Zoll-1.67/1.5GHz).
Construction and Design
The Apple 15 "PowerBook is a marvel to see at.The aluminum frame and minimalist design provides aesthetic pleasure for the eye. I think there is no other notebook on the market, which is the look and feel of the notebook. 15 "PowerBook is a balance between mobility and performance. Weighing only 5.6 kg and only 1.1 cm thick, can not be considered feather lite laptop but given the configuration, it is certainly worth the extra weight. It has its own ambient light sensors and automatically adjusts the brightness of the display and the beautiful illumination. The notebook keyboard feels solid and well built with no screen flex
Battery
The Apple PowerBook G4 battery of the new PowerBook models are advertised at 5.5 hours. Whereas I never achieved this amount, basic application use (internet with wireless internet) has an average life of 3.5 hours before another is needed. Watching a DVD lasts just under 3 hours, and this is more than enough for most films. The battery life of this machine is quite acceptable, although labor-intensive applications with the soil, you very hot and uncomfortable when on your lap
